Amb. (Dr) Oyedokun Ayodeji Oyewole is the President/Chairman, Governing Council, Institute of Information Management (IIM) – Africa. He oversees the day-to-day operations of IIM and its global chapters in the USA, UK, Canada, Australia, France, India, Nigeria, Ghana, and South Africa. He is also the Founder and President of the RIMA Foundation (Nigeria & South Africa) and Wolexdok Micro-processor Ltd.

A seasoned computer professional, his career began in the late 1990s at Swenig System Nigeria, a Swedish firm specializing in information security and support for Dr. Solomon's Anti-Virus Toolkit, where he served as Head of the Computer Department with technical support responsibilities.

He is a member of the Network and Systems Professionals Association (USA), the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC), and the Association for Information and Image Management (AIIM). He is also a Fellow of the Institute of Information Management (IIM).

Between 1998 and 2012, Dr. Oyedokun worked with Chevron Nigeria Limited, a leading multinational oil and gas company.

Dr. Oyedokun is a respected thought leader in the information management industry, Founder of the Records and Information Management Awareness Foundation (RIMA Foundation), and Publisher of IM World Magazine and RIM Africa Journal. He is also the Executive Producer of IM World TV, and a regular columnist for The Guardian Newspaper (Executive Brief Column – "Infotech4dexecutives").

He has received numerous local and international awards for his contributions to the growth of the information management industry in Nigeria and across Africa. In 2004, he received the “Great Minds of the 21st Century Award” presented by the American Biographical Institute.

In March 2010, he was appointed to a 13-member committee by the Lagos State Government to formulate the state’s policy on records and archives management. In 2014, he was named Ambassador for Peace by the Universal Peace Federation, and in 2015, became the first-ever African Fellow of the Information and Records Management Society (IRMS), United Kingdom.

In June 2019, Dr. Oyedokun was appointed as a Project Member of the Advocacy Expert Group (AEG) under the International Council on Archives (ICA). The AEG promotes the importance of archives, manages advocacy resources, and supports the ICA’s Universal Declaration on Archives (UDA).

In July 2019, he was appointed Chairman and Board Member of the Global Fashion Value Chain (GFVC) Federation of Africa (https://www.gfvcafrica.org), serving until August 2021. GFVC is a global-African network of fashion stakeholders, dedicated to maximizing the benefits of the Fourth Industrial Revolution across Africa’s fashion value chain, boosting competitiveness, and enhancing intra-African trade.

In June 2021, he was elected to the Board of Friends of Research4Life, a global organization committed to reducing the knowledge gap between high-income and low- and middle-income countries by providing affordable access to scientific research. Research4Life supports teaching, research, and policymaking in health, agriculture, environment, and the social sciences with access to over 100,000 peer-reviewed journals, books, and databases.

In July 2021, Dr. Oyedokun was appointed to the Editorial Board of Chief Data Officer (CDO) Magazine (www.cdomagazine.tech, USA). In August 2021, he was appointed as the Chief Data Officer, Country Ambassador for Nigeria under the Country Chief Data Officer (CCDO) Ambassador Program, a global initiative of the MIT CDOIQ Symposium, CDO Magazine, and the International Society of Chief Data Officers (isCDO) — becoming the first African to be appointed a CCDO Ambassador.

On 28th September 2021, he was nominated to the Governing Board of the Society for West African Internal Audit Practitioners (SWAIAP) and subsequently elected Chairman of the Board.
